There's no way around it: Our skin changes as we age. It becomes thinner and no longer looks as plump and smooth as it once did. This aging process begins in our 20s because of genetics, sun exposure, smoking, and other factors.
If you are considering getting dermal fillers in Westchester, Restylane could be a great option for treating your skin. Their line of hyaluronic acid-based (HA) fillers provides natural-looking results by smoothing away facial wrinkles, subtly enhancing lips, and adding lift and volume to the cheeks. Restylane gives you great results while maintaining flexibility and allowing your natural facial expressions to shine through.
If you want to learn more about whether you are a good candidate for Restylane, request a consultation at our New York practice to discuss your options with Dr. David E. Bank, or call us at

Are You a Candidate?
Anyone who is frustrated with early signs of aging may be a good candidate for Restylane fillers. For this filler (and all aesthetic procedures, for that matter), the ideal patient should be in good health, understand the process and possible risks, and have realistic expectations for the results.
The Restylane family of fillers is safe for all skin types and ethnicities. During consultation, we will help you decide what treatment is right for you. Restylane is not recommended for anyone with a bleeding disorder, and it may not be a good option for someone who has had a bad result with other HA fillers.

The whole process is relatively straightforward and typically takes around 30 minutes. Your doctor will determine and mark the injection points, and then sterilize the skin. The Restylane filler will be injected beneath the skin. Each injection takes only seconds. Following the injections, a cold compress helps to minimize swelling and discomfort.
Many patients also choose to combine Restylane with other dermal fillers or BOTOX® Cosmetic. We'll help you determine the best treatment plan during your visit.
Types of Restylane
Restylane Refyn™ treats moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Restylane Defyne™, on the other hand, treats wrinkles with more significant depth. Made with XpresHAn Technology™, Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne offer just the right amount of lift to laugh lines, while preserving your ability to show your range of natural facial expressions.
These gel fillers move and mold with your natural expressions and then return to their natural shape, so this treatment is ideal for the areas of the face where there is a lot of movement.
Restylane Lyft™ corrects volume loss and treat wrinkles in the face. It is designed to add fullness to the cheeks and midface area, which can give you a natural looking and youthful appearance. Restylane Lyft is the first and only FDA-approved filler that specifically treats cheeks and smile lines.

Your Recovery & Results
You are free to return to work, school, and other daily routines the same day as the treatment. Some patients note mild swelling, redness, and tenderness in the treated area(s). This should resolve quickly. You'll need to avoid any vigorous rubbing of the treated area(s) for 2 to 3 days.
The benefits of the filler can be immediately apparent in some patients — and depending on the treatment area(s), your results can last anywhere from 6 months to a year. To preserve results and maintain a youthful glow, we do encourage patients to come in for treatment every 6 months.
