  • Creases under the eyes, sometimes called the "tear troughs"
  • Facial volume that that has been displaced
  • Jowls caused by loss of muscle tone and skin laxity
  • A double chin
  • Facial lines and wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds
  • Sagging throughout the midface

During your Mt. Kisco facelift consultation, Dr. Nolan performs a thorough examination to evaluate your physical and emotional health. Your Procedure

Your facelift procedure at The Center for Dermatology, Cosmetic & Laser Surgery is tailored to address your unique concerns, so no 2 surgeries are exactly alike. A face lift is performed while the patient is under general anesthesia. A typical face lift requires an incision along the hairline and around the ears, providing maximum control for the surgeon and discreet scarring once healing has completed.

Facelift incision

Once the incision has been made, Dr. Nolan removes or repositions the underlying tissue and fat as needed, enhancing your natural features and rejuvenating areas that have sagged or lost volume over time.

When he is satisfied with the newly positioned tissue, Dr. Nolan removes any excess skin to create a smooth contour. Your incisions are closed, and you are moved to a comfortable recovery area to awaken on your own.

Your Recovery & Results

Bruising and swelling are common following facelift surgery, and each patient's recovery experience is different. After 1 week, the initial swelling and bruising should start to dissipate, and you can begin to get a good sense of your ultimate results. Dr. Nolan advises against using makeup for about 2 weeks following surgery in order to keep the incisions clean and dry. Most patients feel comfortable enough to return to work after about 2 weeks.

Though the results of a face lift can be truly stunning, it's important to remember that the surgery only delays the aging process — it does not stop it. After several years, your skin may again begin to feel lax, and you may notice sagging or wrinkles. Some patients choose to touch up their results with BOTOX Cosmetic, injectable fillers, or other minimally invasive procedures, while others may opt to undergo a second face lift. Dr. Nolan helps you decide which is the best choice for you.
