Are You a Candidate?
Because Vbeam can address a variety of skin irregularities, the main requirement for candidacy is the desire to improve your skin. During your initial consultation, our doctors evaluate your skin to examine its tone, tightness, pigmentation, and other factors that may affect your treatment plan. Additional or alternative treatment options may be recommended if it's determined that Vbeam is not the best match for you. Our team can recommend a variety of cosmetic dermatology options using their extensive training and experience.
Most patients report minimal discomfort during a Vbeam treatment, although topical anesthetic is available. Each session lasts only a few minutes, and most patients achieve optimal results after a single treatment.
During the session, a qualified member of our medical staff passes the Vbeam handpiece over the targeted area of your skin. Vbeam's Dynamic Cooling Device, or DCD, applies a cooling mist to your skin before each laser pulse. The benefits of the DCD are twofold: the mist enhances your comfort and protects your skin, minimizing undesirable side effects such as redness.
Patients with more severe skin conditions, such as rosacea, may need to visit our Mt. Kisco clinic more than once to achieve the best results from Vbeam. You'll receive a detailed treatment plan during your consultation.
Your Recovery & Results
Vbeam is an exceedingly popular treatment option at The Center because of its low levels of discomfort and excellent results. Immediately following the treatment, mild swelling and redness may occur, but these symptoms typically last only a few hours.
Some patients may develop a laser bruise, called purpura. Though this can be alarming, it's a harmless effect and will go away within a few days. No downtime is required following a Vbeam treatment, and most of our patients are able to immediately return to their normal activities. However, you should take special care to protect your skin from the sun while it heals.
Most patients notice initial results right away, with long-term results developing further over the next few weeks. The results of a Vbeam treatment are generally very long-lasting. Our team can also recommend a variety of medical-grade skin products that you can use at home to complement your procedure.
