The Center for Dermatology, Cosmetic & Laser Surgery is pleased to offer the RHA Collection of dermal fillers made by Teoxane Laboratories. RHA, for resilient hyaluronic acid, is the first and only hyaluronic acid (HA) filler approved by the FDA to treat dynamic wrinkles, which are caused by repeated contractions of facial muscles. Results are instant and extremely natural looking.
What are RHA fillers?
RHA fillers offer an innovative approach to correcting dynamic wrinkles that are typically treated with neuromodulators like BOTOX® Cosmetic. These products, including RHA® 2, RHA® 3, and RHA® 4, vary in their elasticity and viscosity (firmness). They contain a unique type of HA that is much like natural HA for results that blend seamlessly with facial features.
What do RHA fillers treat?
RHA fillers are available for women and men who are at least age 22. There are options specifically formulated for a variety of benefits, which include:
Smoothing out smile lines (nasolabial folds)
Filling in vertical lines around the lips
Contouring the jawline
Plumping and defining thin, flat lips
Restoring volume to the cheeks
Your provider will choose the best RHA filler or combination of fillers for your cosmetic goals and needs.

Like JUVÉDERM® and other HA fillers, RHA fillers rejuvenate the face from within the skin by replacing lost volume—filling in lines, folds, and wrinkles and sculpting the lips. Unlike other fillers, RHA fillers can be used to smooth away dynamic wrinkles like crow's feet while allowing the face to move naturally.
Neuromodulators like BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® also smooth out dynamic wrinkles, but these products work gradually by suspending the movement of the associated facial muscles. RHA fillers work immediately by replacing HA in the skin. They move naturally with your expressions and facial movements.
What are treatments like?
RHA treatments, like other dermal filler treatments, involve minimal discomfort because these fillers contain lidocaine. Our physicians use an ultrafine needle to inject the filler into the skin a little at a time until the desired correction is achieved. We'll offer you a cold pack when your treatment is complete to minimize redness, swelling, and bruising.
How long do RHA fillers last?
Results from RHA fillers last up to 15 months, depending on the specific filler chosen and where it is injected. Regular maintenance treatments can help you maintain your rejuvenated look.
