The LightSheer Diode laser is already used for hair removal. It works by targeting the melanin, or dark pigment, in the hair follicle. This same procedure of targeting dark pigment can be used to safely eradicate pigmented lesions, or dark spots, on the skin.

Brown spots, age spots, and sun spots can effectively be treated by the Diode laser, with an 80% improvement after one treatment. The laser targets and obliterates the pigment-containing cells in the dark spot. With no post-operative care needed, the spots gradually disappear with no resultant scabbing or scarring.

The use of the LightSheer Diode laser is suitable for pigmentation on the face, back of the hands, and all parts of the body.

There are no necessary pre-operative steps. Post-operatively, keeping the treated area covered with Bacitracin and a band-aid should help achieve the best cosmetic results.
