How does Radiesse work?

Radiesse® injections work below the skin's surface to stimulate the body to produce new collagen. Radiesse does more than just temporarily fill in facial lines and wrinkles – it actually provides facial volume. You get immediate results that are long lasting.

Radiesse Microsphere Technology

Radiesse injections consist of very small, smooth calcium hydroxylapitite (CaHA) microspheres that are suspended in a water-based gel carrier. Radiesse stimulates the body to produce new collagen, correcting facial wrinkles. This enables Radiesse to create a natural look that lasts.

Though your body will absorb the gel carrier over time, collagen will start to grow and infiltrate the area in the meantime, thus replacing the gel with your own collagen. Radiesse continues to stimulate the body to produce new collagen until the microspheres are also safely and naturally absorbed into your body.

Radiesse® Mechanism of Action: Photo 1 Radiesse (CaHA+Gel) initially performs as a filler

Radiesse® Mechanism of Action: Photo 2 Macrophages start to degrade gel carrier (2-3 Months)

Radiesse® Mechanism of Action: Photo 3 Macrophages dissolve gel carrier as new collagen forms. Collagen growth provides for a long term augmentation that may last for a year or more in many patients.

Radiesse® Mechanism of Action: Photo 4 CaHA particles start to degrade and are metabolized by macrophages.

A Safe and Effective Treatment

Hundreds of thousands of patients have experienced FDA-approved Radiesse, and thousands of physicians and their skilled nursing staffs have been trained worldwide to provide Radiesse treatments. Years of rigorous industry testing and independent research has proven that Radiesse injections are safe and effective, with virtually no risk of allergic reaction. Radiesse is biocompatible and is naturally absorbed by your body over time. Radiesse works with your body to correct facial wrinkles and provides the long lasting, natural look you desire.
