Fraxel® Laser Skin Resurfacing
Throughout our lives, our faces do so much — and the normal wear and tear of daily life can start to show. Uneven tone, dark spots, scars, and other irregularities on our faces can reflect where we've been and what we've done instead of who we really are. We offer fractional laser resurfacing with Fraxel at our Mt. Kisco office to help our patients reveal their skin as it was meant to be seen.
If you'd like to learn more about how Fraxel can take years off your appearance, request a consultation online, or call The Center for Dermatology, Cosmetic & Laser Surgery at (914) 241-3003.

Are You a Candidate?
The Fraxel fractional laser system can address a wide range of common aesthetic concerns after just a few sessions. Fraxel has been cleared by the FDA to treat the following:
- Wrinkles around the eyes
- Age and sun spots
- Brown spots and melasma
- Scars, including acne and surgical
Good candidates for Fraxel treatments are men and women who are bothered by some of the above symptoms. If you're considering Fraxel, you should be able to commit to multiple sessions in order to see the best results.
Fraxel uses fractional laser technology to penetrate the top layers of the skin, stimulating collagen development and kick-starting the skin's natural rejuvenation process. At The Center for Dermatology, Cosmetic & Laser Surgery, a qualified member of our team administers the treatment using Fraxel's own "smart scanning" handpiece to target very precise areas of the face.
Most patients report some discomfort during each 15- to 45-minute session, but it's manageable with a topical anesthetic and temperature regulation of the treated area.
Your Recovery & Results
Most patients report some degree of redness and swelling for several days following a Fraxel session. Less common, though temporary, side effects include:
- Minor itching
- Dry skin
- Peeling or flaking
- A bronzed appearance
More aggressive treatments, such as those that address severe scarring, may require a few days of downtime at home.
For the best results from Fraxel, our doctors generally recommend 3 to 5 sessions spaced several weeks apart. Results may be seen as early as 1 week after treatment, but because Fraxel works in conjunction with your skin's natural functions, your own timeline may vary.
As your skin continues to heal, it will become softer and brighter, with more even tone. Your ultimate outcome, which may take as long as 6 months to develop, further enhances these results. Our team can also recommend a variety of medical-grade skin products that you can use at home to further enhance your results.
